Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, and now based in New York, actress Mitzie Pratt has built a solid reputation as an international talent, both on stage and screen for portraying strong independent women, as well as compelling troubled characters. She's often being touted for her ability to fully embody the nuances of her varied roles as means of bringing them to life. 


Mitzie emerged in theaters with a supporting role in the 2022 Sundance Grand Jury Award-winning dramatic horror feature NANNYfrom director Nikyatu Jusu which is now available on Amazon Prime. She also starred and earned raves for her portrayal as the tough love, ever-steady Mildred 'Mimi' Clarke in the original drama series #LoveMyRoomie, from writer-director Yhá Mourhia Wright, also available on Amazon Prime.


More recently, Mitzie stepped into the realm of executive producer for the short film, Don’t Be Desperate, which had its World Premiere at the 2022 Hip Hop Film Festival in New York and was also an Official Selection of both the Detroit Black Film Festival and the Newark International Film Festival. The film comes from writer-director Yhá Mourhia Wright.

Previously, Mitzie starred as the smart, beautiful, and strategic forensic accountant, Della Maze, in the dramatic-action short, Maneuver, from filmmaker Demedrius Charles. Available internationally on Vault Access, the film originally garnered festival attention as an Official Selection at Newark Int’l Film Festival, Hoboken Int'l Film Festival, Newark Short Film Awards, and The Dumbo Film Festival to name a few. She also emerged as a standout in two earlier projects from Demedrius Charles. First, as Marie in the relationship drama, Ascension: I Am Not My Mother, then followed by the drug-addicted Bella in the short-film Crave, a role she will reprise for the upcoming full-length feature version.

Mitzie has also proven to be a powerhouse on stage, both in the U.S. and Jamaica. She most recently portrayed Samantha McIntosh in the Off-Broadway production of Dahlia Harris’ God’s Way. Some of her notable New York theater credits include The Nuyorican Poets Cafés award-winning Shango de Ima, Three Sisters, and Smile Orange. In addition, her Jamaican credits include a portrayal as God in Feminine Justice, and the musical productions A Song for You and Man A Yard.

Early in her career, Mitzie found success as a runway, print, and catalog model. Her career took off after securing representation by a top South Florida-based agency, landing her modeling jobs for global designers Donna Karen, Liz Claiborne, Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Betsy Johnson, and Jean Paul Gaultier to name a few.

To hone her acting skills, Mitzie earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Davis Center for The Performing Arts at The City College of New York and studied for one year at The Actors Studio Drama School. Prior to this, she earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Business Management & Marketing.
